- שְׁעַע, שְׁעִיעַch. sam( Hithpa. הִשְׁתַּעֲשֵׁעַ, Nithpa. נִשְׁתַּעְשֵׁעַ to be appeased, enjoy ones self), 1) to smooth, paste over, daub. Targ. Ez. 13:10, sq. Ib. 12 שַׁעְתּוּן (some ed. שַׁעִיתוּן, Pa. of שְׁעֵי), Ib. 22:28; a. e. 2) to make smooth, flatter. Targ. Ps. 36:3. 3) (of skin) to be smooth, bright. Targ. Lam. 4:7 (h. text צחו). Pa. שַׁעֵעַ to smooth. Targ. Ps. 5:10 (v. שְׁעֵי). Ithpa. אִתָּשַׁע to be pasted, daubed, v. שוּעַ ch.
